My Personal Branding Journey

It all started when I had a holiday booked to Europe and the UK, about 6-7 months into running my recruitment agency. I needed to stay front of mind but couldn't be bothered with one-on-one business development calls. So I started posting on LinkedIn, doing 30 days of Recruitment Mythbusters.

Surprisingly, people engaged with my posts, and I returned from Europe with three jobs from new clients - without any chasing or sales calls. This made me realize the power of credibility, trust, and setting yourself apart.

The Three Core Pillars of Personal Branding

  1. Content Strategy

Your content needs to resonate with your target audience. It should be obvious that you're talking to them and can help them. This builds trust and credibility, making potential clients more likely to work with you.

  1. Optimized LinkedIn Profile

Your profile needs to wow people who click on it after seeing your content. It should be your mini website, describing what makes you different and how you can help your audience. The goal is to convert viewers into leads.

  1. Communication Strategy

This involves both outreach to your ideal audience and making it easy for them to message you. It's about building authentic communication with your community who will work with you when the time is right.
